With the weapon being featured and named in other titles, "Fusion Sword" has come to be used as the proper name for the completed weapon. The film's creative designer, Takayuki Takaya, has stated the individual swords are nameless, and no other names have been put forth by the creators other than "Fusion Swords", which was used during development. The individual weapons are not named, and are usually identified by a numerical designation, such as Final Fantasy Record Keeper calling the main blade and the hollow blade, "1st Fusion Sword" and "2nd Fusion Sword', respectively. At points when Cloud connects additional swords to the main blade, the assembly briefly glows a green-blue color, but this is inconsistent and there is no glow when Cloud disconnects a sword from the assembly. It is unclear to what extent the individual swords, and the various states of assembly the Fusion Sword goes through, augment the strength of Cloud's attacks or the weapon's cutting and crushing power. Cloud is able to perform many of his Limit Breaks when wielding the swords. Over the course of events in Advent Children, Cloud wields the various swords in different combinations, as individual weapons and partially assembled into the Fusion Sword. Cloud's motorcycle, the Fenrir, has compartments along the front wheel assembly that store the six swords while he is driving.

The harness only has slots for four blades in Advent Children, but in other media and merchandise, it usually has six slots to hold the full set. Cloud carries the weapons in a harness on his back, the handles emerging from the sides for him to reach behind him and draw them. Those of you who keep asking if the sword is wrapped in toilet riously *shakes head*. We made them a goofy shield to go with their awesome goofy and donald costumes *omg they both looked so good* So I basically had to restyle the whole wig myself. The wig was made by Ramen and Rice and it came out so awesome, but due to a color dyeing accident i had to hose wash the entire thing TT_TT, completely washing out the dye and i tried to put the spikes back in and i wanted to make them look fluffy, and i also added a few more spikes here and there. The sword (which is currently wrapped KH style in this pic) and shoulder armor was made by my friend Jake, and in return i made him some cloud boots ^^. I made the entire sewing part of the costume including the Cloudy Wolf shoulder armor emblem was sculpted by me, and I made the boots and altered the shades. But heheh we made a trade, I made something for their costumes in return. So much went into this costume, this is the first costume that I own that is not entirely made by me, i had the help of such wonderfull friends.

Got more excited after the movie came out, But it was this year I finally got around to making it. And I actually started doing research as soon as Advent Children was first introduced. Ive wanted to make a cloud costume since final fantasy vii, but i kept holding off. that was my point since it was a secret costume hehe i wonder how many people actually recognized me with shades on. I was finally able to wear this at Anime Expo 2006. but cloud is cool tooo! heheh, but not as cool as link 'cough'
